1. The "myPG by design: myFAVE PG Photo Contest" is a contest run by the City of Prince George. All questions regarding the contest rules should be directed to the Communications Assistant, 1100 Patricia Boulevard, City of Prince George, BC, V2L 3V9, or Telephone: 250-561-7655.
Photos submitted to the "myPG by design: myFAVE PG Photo Contest" (hereafter known as “contest”) become the property of the City of Prince George. By submitting a photo entry to the contest, and in consideration of the opportunity to win Prize(s), you agree to give the City of Prince George full print and digital publication rights for communication materials, advertising and promotional materials and on the City’s website for any purpose and at any time in the future, without any fee or other form of compensation. Should the City of Prince George use your photo in a print or digital publication, a photo credit will be given to the photographer.
2. Selected photos will be published in the City of Prince George Official Community Plan Bylaw document and as part of a public photo essay exhibit. Winning photographs will be chosen by a panel of three judges from the community. The top three winning photos will receive prizes which include special recognition and features of the selected photographs, Prince George event tickets, and more.

Relevancy to Prince George
How effectively does the photo illustrate Prince George, B.C.?
Composition/ Arrangement
Are the subjects in the photo arranged in a meaningful, pleasing manner? Did the photographer use the best angle or otherwise interesting perspective?
Focus/ Sharpness
Is the object of the photo in focus? If not in sharp focus, does it appear to be an intentional effect to enhance the image in some "artistic" way?
Lighting
Do any extremes of darkness or brightness lend to, or distract from, the image content?
Creativity
Does the photographer show some creative thought or original idea in the making of this image?
Using these criteria as a guide, three winners will be chosen (1st, second and third)...will one of them be you?
4. Entries will be accepted starting September 8th, 2010 12:01 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time and the final date for submitting photos is November 20th, 2010 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. To avoid processing delays, submit your entry early. The City of Prince George anticipates notifying winners in December 2010.
5. Persons are allowed to enter to a maximum of five (5) times, provided each image is an original photo taken by entrant. Eligible persons may enter the contest by clicking on http://www.flickr.com/groups/mypg/.
6. The City of Prince George is not responsible for any entries which are incomplete, lost, stolen, destroyed, delayed, or not transmitted due to technical failure, whatever the cause.
7. In the event that a selected entrant does not comply with these Contest Rules and Regulations, or cannot be contacted within two weeks of his/her selection, an alternate entrant will be selected from the remaining entries. The prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
8. This contest is open to everyone, 19 years of age or older (unless parental/guardian authorization is provided), excluding employees of the City of Prince George.
9. By submitting, entrants warrant that his or her entry materials are original, that they are the photographer’s and they do not infringe on any third party’s rights, and that the entrant has obtained any necessary permissions from any third party if a third party’s property appears in the photograph. The City of Prince George reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it finds in its sole discretion that any of the foregoing warranties are not true.
10. The City of Prince George reserves the right to remove or replace any files that compromise the security of the server, or are otherwise malignant.
11. The photo subject must be relevant to the photo contest’s theme. Photos must be appropriate for posting on a public government website. Photos that contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content will not be considered. The City of Prince George will determine, in its sole discretion, what constitutes such content.
12. The contest is governed by the laws of Canada and is subject to applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
13. By participating in this contest, all entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and Regulations. The decisions of the contest judges are final and binding. The City of Prince George reserves the right to withdraw or terminate the contest at any time without prior notice or to change the rules and regulations in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws or the policy of any other entity having jurisdiction over the contest. Contact or correspondence will occur only with selected entrants.
